Common Use For This Medicine
1- For the management of secondary HYPERPARATHYROIDISM in patients on chronic renal dialysis.
How To Use This Medicine
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor
* Avoid using mineral oil with this medication.
* DO NOT EXCEED recommended dosage.
What To Do If You Miss A Dose
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
How To Store This Medicine
Keep in original closed container in a dark, cool, and dry place away from children. Discard unneeded medicine.
Call Your Doctor Immediately If You Experience
Vomiting; Nausea; Swelling of feet or lower legs; Difficulty breathing; Constipation; Slowness of heartbeat; Joint pain; Weight
loss; Abnormal visual intolerance of light; Irregular heartbeat; High blood pressure; Unusual tiredness or weakness; Muscle
pain.
Other Side Effects
Headache; Feeling of general discomfort; Dizziness; Weight gain; Itching; Indigestion; Decreased appetite; Sleepiness; Dry
mouth; Metallic taste; Urinary frequency; Increased thirst; High cholesterol level; Decreased sexual desire.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE,
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
Precautions And Warnings
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit

* AVOID concomitant use of MAGNESIUM containing antacids while on this medication.
* FLUID RETENTION may occur; conditions influenced by this factor (epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac or renal dysfunction)
require careful observation
* Watch for signs of INFLAMMATION OF THE PANCREAS (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting). Inform your doctor immediately.
